Dr. Jeffrey Zieziula
Lead Dentist
Meet Dr. Jeff. Dr. Jeffrey F. Zieziula attended dental school at the University of Michigan. After graduating with his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree in 2003, Dr. Jeff moved to Charlotte, NC and joined the SmileStarters team. Having been with the company for over 18 years now, Dr. Jeff finds the most rewarding part of his job seeing all the patients grow into healthy young adults with a beautiful smile. When not in the office, Dr. Zieziula enjoys the outdoors, time with friends and family, and watching New York Yankees baseball.

Dr. Ashley Chandler
Dentist
Meet Dr.Ashley. Dr. Ashley went to University of Florida for her undergraduate degree and the University of North Carolina for dental school. She graduated in 2009 and has been with Smile Starters since 2012. Dr. Ashley loves children and wants every child to have the best experience possible while at the dental office.
When not at the office, Dr. Ashley is most likely with her own kids and husband. They love to enjoy the outdoors together, and when there’s some spare time, Dr. Ashley loves running, baking, and reading.
Dr. Emily Wiles
Dentist
Meet Dr. Emily. Dr. Emily has been working with Smile Starters since 2019. She graduated from Medical University of South Carolina in 2017 in Charleston, SC where she grew up. Dr.Emily loves making kids laugh and smile. The best compliment is when a patient says they love the dentist. In her free time, she enjoys gardening, hiking, and anything involving the water!
Bedcie Leon
Office Manager
Meet our office Manager Bedcie. Bedcie moved from New Jersey in 2013 and shortly after she started her career with Smile Starters. Bedcie has over 15 years of managerial experience. In her spare time, she enjoys gardening, long-distance running, crafting and traveling.
Fun fact: Bedcie is a former Zumba and Hot Hula Fitness instructor.
Audrey DvoÅ™ák
Lead Hygienist
Meet our Lead Hygienist Audrey. Audrey has been the lead hygienist since Smile Starters North Tryon opened in 2003. She has enjoyed treating many patients and watching them grow from children to adults. Audrey takes pride when her past patients bring their own children in for cleanings.
Building trusting relationships with her Smile Starters patients and helping ease dental anxiety brings her great delight!
Outside of work, Audrey enjoys spending time with her husband and two children. She is an avid fitness junkie and loves to travel to new places!

Brittany Balser
Lead Dental Assistant
Meet our Lead Dental Assistant Brittany. Brittany has been with Smile Starters for 5.5 years now, where she started as a DAI and worked her way to a DAII. Brittany has been helping with the OR program the last four years and now is the lead dental assistant. Brittany loves the time she gets to talk with her patients and parents to help ease their mind before their dental appointment and to help educate them on their oral health. Her work family is very special to her and she loves being with a great company! In Brittany's spare time, she enjoys spending time with her husband, Daniel and their 2 year old daughter Huntley! They spend time outside any chance they get and love traveling to the beach!
